The school of football, Royal, registered as a football club, was founded on 1/10/1999, thus being one of the first private schools of football in Serbia. The team of coaches consists of graduates from the advanced school of coaching in Belgrade. Apart from the classic school of football under the expert supervision of coach Dusan Trpevski, there is also a scool for goalkeepers run by coach Dejan Jovic. Training sessions are being held at the courts in Kosutnjak Camp.

The founders of the club, Zoran Ciric and Dusan Trpevski, started their pioneer work in 1999 by training the children in the physical education hall at the elementary school Ljuba Nenadovic in Zarkovo. In March, 2000, the club moved to SC Kosutnjak, where the training sessions were held both at the big outdoor court and inside the sports centre.

In the first season, we competed in the official Pioneer League of Belgrade, where we won fourth place in our group among 12 other clubs most of which were founded more than 40 years ago. All the boys who represented us at that competition were the students of the elementary school Ljuba Nenadovic.

In 2001 coach Dejan Jovic joined our club. The school started to develop and expand, starting to train boys from the whole territory of the municipality of Cukarica. The school for goalkeepers started to work.

In 2002, we moved to the excellent courts in Kosutnjak Camp.

In the last 5 years, more than 250 boys aged 5 to 15 have been trained in our club.

During that period, the Royal school of football has established a recognizable method of work which has been acknowledged in football circles.

The basic motive for founding this club was the idea to go beyond the stereotypes which dominate the work with younger categories, and which characterise all domestic football clubs. Our method of work is in accord with the methodology used by the leading European countries, and it differs from the methods of work of the majority of clubs in our country.

Objectives

We have clearly defined the objectives of our work. We wish to make every child who comes to our school love football, as well as sports in general. We achieve this by giving maximum attention to all the members of our club. We put great effort to nurture the principle of equality within a group, but we do not neglect a serious individual approach. An optimal sports training and a correct pedagogical method have created a specific and extremely positive image of the club.

We distinguish ourselves from the others by not insisting on achieving results only. Our result is – the player. Everything else is less important. The player is a child who leaves our school having been completely technically trained, but not exhausted. Such child is ready for further football training in the first-rate football clubs. Apparently, not everyone can become a first class football player. However, everyone can undergo a first class training as far as their talent would let them and to a degree in which they accept the training methodology.
Patience is what we expect and require. Results can be achieved if both parents and children are patient.

Plans

At present, the club consists of 50 boys, aged 5 – 12.
We wish to expand our work with the present members and to move our youngest players to the big court. That is planned for the season of 2004-2005.

After that we are going further!
We will soon become an academy of football!
That is a plan. We are working on it, easily and patiently.

COMPETITIONS

Naturally, we do not leave competitions behind. We have to take them as something inevitable, and we enjoy participating in them.

The result in a sport might be a measure of quality, but it certainly is not the purpose. We try never to forget that rule. We work with children aged 5-12, we monitor their development, we motivate them to continue with their work without burdening them with results.

We are one of the founders of McDonald's MINI-MAXI league, and so far we have achived noticeable results. Our greatest success are the boys who were pronounced the best players in the league.

We won the big international tournaments in Celje (Slovenia) for players born in 1993, among the representatives of football champions of Slovenia, Croatia, Austria and Hungary (Maribor, Olimpia, Hajduk, Varteks, GAK, Zalaegerseg) and in 2003 in Sardinia (Cagliari - Italy) for players born in 1992 and younger, among the representatives of the Italian, Polish and French first division clubs.
The best players in both tournaments were the players from our club.
